Search for the cost of ERP software in India and you will find ranges like ₹2 lakh to ₹50 lakh, with no source and no way to tell what is inside them. This guide does it the other way round. It uses only prices that vendors publish, as they stood on 19 October 2026, and works them through for one example company so you can see where the money goes.
It is written for owners and finance heads of manufacturers, distributors and service companies who are moving off spreadsheets and Tally-plus-Excel. Every figure excludes GST unless the table says otherwise.
Four ways to get an ERP, and how each is priced
- Accounting and inventory software you extend: TallyPrime, Zoho Books with Zoho Inventory. Cheapest to start, priced per licence or per organisation, and strongest in accounts and GST.
- A cloud ERP subscription: Odoo, ERPNext, Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, Zoho One. Priced per user or per employee per month, with implementation charged separately by a partner.
- An industry ERP: software built for one trade, such as school ERP or contractor ERP, priced by the unit that trade understands, whether per student, per site or a flat plan.
- A custom ERP: built around your own workflows. No per-user licence; you pay for the build, then for hosting and support. The price comes from a scoped quote, not a list.
Published ERP prices in India, October 2026
These are list prices from each vendor's Indian pricing page, read on 19 October 2026. Some include a first-year discount, noted where it applies. SAP Business One does not publish a price in India; it is sold through partners on quotation.
| Product | Plan | Price | Unit |
|---|---|---|---|
| TallyPrime | Silver (single PC) | ₹22,500 | One-time licence |
| TallyPrime | Gold (multi-user) | ₹67,500 | One-time licence |
| TallyPrime | Software Services renewal | ₹4,500 Silver · ₹13,500 Gold | Per year |
| Zoho Books | Standard to Ultimate | ₹749 to ₹7,999 | Per organisation per month, billed yearly |
| Zoho Inventory | Standard to Enterprise | ₹999 to ₹7,499 | Per organisation per month, billed yearly |
| Zoho One | All-employee | ₹1,250 | Per employee per month, billed yearly |
| Odoo | Standard | ₹725 (₹580 in the first year with the current discount) | Per user per month, billed yearly |
| Odoo | Custom | ₹1,350 (₹1,080 in the first year) | Per user per month, billed yearly |
| Dynamics 365 Business Central | Essentials · Premium | ₹6,655 · ₹9,150 | Per user per month, paid yearly |
| ERPNext on Frappe Cloud | Shared hosting | ₹410 to ₹4,100 | Per site per month; the software is open source |
| SAP Business One | — | Not published | On quotation |
A worked example: 25 users, one year of licences
Take a distributor with 25 people who need to log in: accounts, sales, purchase, stores and two branch managers. Here is what the licences alone cost for a year at the prices above. Implementation, hosting where not included, and support come on top.
| Option | How it is counted | Year-one licence cost |
|---|---|---|
| Odoo Standard | 25 users × ₹580 × 12 (first-year price) | ₹1,74,000 |
| Odoo Standard, later years | 25 users × ₹725 × 12 | ₹2,17,500 |
| Zoho One, all-employee | 25 employees × ₹1,250 × 12 | ₹3,75,000 |
| Dynamics 365 Business Central Essentials | 25 users × ₹6,655 × 12 | ₹19,96,500 |
| TallyPrime Gold | One multi-user licence for the office network | ₹67,500 once, then ₹13,500 a year |
| ERPNext on Frappe Cloud | Hosting for one site; no per-user fee | ₹4,920 to ₹49,200 |
| Custom ERP | No per-user licence | Hosting and support only, after the build |
Two things stand out. First, per-user pricing grows with the team: at 75 users the Dynamics figure triples, and the Odoo figure triples too. Second, TallyPrime and ERPNext look cheap because the cost moves elsewhere: Tally into the spreadsheets and add-ons around it, ERPNext into the implementation and the in-house or partner skill to run it.
Industry ERP: priced the way the trade counts
Software built for one trade can publish a simpler price, because the work is already known. Two of Techimpace's own products are examples. Docket ERP, for electrical contractors on government works, is ₹5,000 a month or ₹50,000 a year at its launch price, with unlimited users. Academica ERP, for schools, starts from ₹10 per student per month, so a 500-student school starts at ₹5,000 a month. Both exclude GST.
If an industry product fits your trade closely, it is usually cheaper and faster than either a general ERP or a custom build. The test is how much of your work it covers without changes.
What decides the cost of a custom ERP
A custom ERP is priced from the work, so the useful question is what creates work. These are the items that move a quote most, roughly in order.
- Modules: finance with GST, inventory, purchase, sales, production, HR and payroll. Most companies start with four to six and add the rest later.
- Integrations: Tally, payment gateways, e-invoicing and e-way bills, biometric attendance, a website or a marketplace. Each one is a piece of software in its own right.
- Data migration: years of item masters, ledgers and open balances, and how clean they are. Untidy data costs more to move than the module it feeds.
- Approvals and reports: every approval chain and every report the owner reads each morning has to be designed, built and tested.
- Branches and users: more locations mean stock transfers, permissions and consolidated reports.
- Hosting and support: cloud hosting, backups, monitoring and an annual maintenance contract continue after launch.
As a check on any quote you receive, Clutch's pricing guide, updated 21 September 2026, puts India-based custom software companies at $25 to $49 an hour. A quote is that rate multiplied by the hours the scope needs, so ask for the hours behind it.
Costs that are easy to miss
Custom ERP or a subscription?
- Your processes are close to the standard ones the product supports.
- You have fewer users now and do not expect that to grow fast.
- You want to start within weeks and accept the product's way of working.
- A partner near you knows the product well.
- Your process is what sets you apart, and the products force workarounds.
- Per-user fees would grow quickly as more staff and branches log in.
- You need to own the code and the data outright.
- You already pay for several tools that each do part of the job.
How to get a quote you can compare
- Write down the processesOne page per department: what happens, who approves, which document comes out. This is the most useful hour you will spend.
- List the systems it must talk toTally, the bank, payment gateways, e-invoicing, attendance devices, your website.
- Count users and locationsWho logs in, from where, and how that will change in three years.
- Ask for the same breakdown from everyoneLicence, implementation, migration, training, hosting and support as separate lines, with the hours behind each.
- Compare five-year cost, not year oneAdd the yearly lines for five years. Per-user subscriptions and support contracts look different over that span.
Techimpace builds custom ERP and also sets up Zoho, Odoo and ERPNext, so we can price both routes for the same scope. After a free discovery call we give a fixed, itemised quote, with the licence or build, implementation, migration, training, hosting and support as separate lines.
Frequently asked questions
How much does ERP software cost in India?
From a one-time ₹22,500 for TallyPrime Silver to about ₹20 lakh a year in licences for 25 users of Dynamics 365 Business Central Essentials, excluding GST. Odoo Standard for 25 users is about ₹1.7 to ₹2.2 lakh a year in licences. Implementation, migration, training and support are extra on every subscription product.
How much does custom ERP software cost in India?
There is no honest single figure, because the cost is the work: modules, integrations, data migration, reports, branches, hosting and support. Ask for a fixed quote with those as separate lines and the hours behind each. Clutch lists India-based custom software companies at $25 to $49 an hour (September 2026), which lets you check the arithmetic.
Is Tally an ERP?
TallyPrime is accounting, inventory and GST software, and many small companies run their business on it. It becomes limiting when work outside accounts, such as production, approvals, branch operations or HR, lives in spreadsheets around it. Many ERPs connect to Tally rather than replace it.
Is a custom ERP cheaper than Odoo or Zoho?
Not at the start: a subscription costs less in year one. Over five years a custom ERP can cost less when many people log in, because there is no per-user fee, or when the subscription needs heavy customisation that has to be redone at each upgrade. Compare five-year totals on the same scope.
Do ERP prices in India include GST?
Usually not. TallyPrime, Zoho, Microsoft and Techimpace all quote prices exclusive of GST, which is added at 18% for software. Check each line of a quote, because some partners include it and others do not.
How long does an ERP implementation take?
For a small or mid-sized company, a focused rollout of four to six modules usually takes two to four months from discovery to go-live. Larger multi-branch projects run longer and are best released in phases. Data clean-up and decisions on your side are the usual cause of delay.
